Teams attendance reports older than 50 sessions
If a recurring meeting has run for a long time, older attendance reports may no longer be reachable through Microsoft Graph. Here is what Microsoft documents, and how to keep your own archive.
The 50-report limit
Microsoft's Graph reference warns that the list call returns only up to 50 of the most recent reports. A meeting held every weekday reaches 50 sessions after ten weeks, so tools built on that call see only the latest 50 sessions.
Retention
- Microsoft's Graph documentation says the rules of the Teams attendance report also apply to Graph, including a one-year retention policy from the meeting date.
- Reports are stored with the organizer's other data. If the organizer leaves the organization, Microsoft says the reports are permanently deleted and can't be retrieved.
Keep your own copy
- By hand: download each session's CSV from the Attendance tab of the meeting chat soon after the session and store it somewhere that does not depend on one person's account.
- Automatically: Series Attendance Roster archives each report after the session (a paid-plan feature, see pricing), encrypted, for the retention period you choose (6 to 60 months, 24 by default). When you connect, it fetches what Microsoft still returns; sessions that are already gone cannot be recovered, so the archive starts from that point.
The earlier you connect, the more of the series ends up in the archive.
